Over Budget and Falling Behind Schedule, Safeway Needs Last-Minute Help for Grand Opening

Safeway Supermarkets was just four days from opening a brand new store in Central Florida. The contractor originally tasked with the job had fallen behind on getting the store ready and was already over budget. The executives at Safeway called Central Florida Store Services with a laundry list of unfinished jobs that needed to be completed in just four days’ time. The following is an incomplete list of the jobs that needed to be finished:

Central Florida Store Services (CFLSS) was immediately given the title of Project Coordinator overseeing the entire project. With such a long punch list, Brian Horine, owner of Central Florida Store Services, needed get a handle on the chaos and come up with a plan of action that would take place over the next four days. The CFLSS team needed all parties to work together as a team in order to succeed. Without complications, CFLSS was able to work with the existing contractor and quickly bring in their own subcontractors to round out the work team. CFLSS also had to work with a meticulous Starbucks Décor Team that had strict guidelines on how to set up and showcase the Starbucks brand and storefront. Overall, CFLSS used organization, expertise and quality collaboration in order to achieve a positive outcome for Safeway.

Even with the long punch list, Safeway’s supermarket was able to have a flawless Grand Opening. The store opened on time and the store looked brand new. Safeway’s executives were so pleased with the work, customer service and collaboration that took place that Central Florida Store Services was awarded the total contract for all Safeways in the state of Florida to handle all facility maintenance, refrigeration, HVAC and kitchen equipment needs for each store.
